We’ve been told for years “See something, SAY something” when it comes to public safety. See something suspicious? Say something to authorities. Sometimes, that tactic seems to just lead to a million disappointing “Karen” stories online, sometimes with horrible outcomes. Other times, observant citizens – and often students, like in this case – end up saving lives.
It looks like the Jacksonville shooter who killed 3 people in what authorities believe was a racist rampage at a Dollar General store had a different target in mind originally. According to the President of Historically Black University Edward Waters, students saw the same man who would commit those heinous crimes on their campus earlier in the day putting on tactical gear at his vehicle and alerted campus security.
